Howl Chapter 1
^{Emerald's point of view}

I crawl slowly across the forest, my fur drenched and dripping with blood. More my blood than the others. My front legs shake violently as I sat up and raise my head. Blood dripped slowly down my snout as I let out one last, long, painful howl. I keep it as long as I cam, wishing, hoping someone could hear me. After, I collapse. My jaw clicking painfully against the forest floor. My heart pounds in my ears as I gaze up at the sky, the stars twinkling brightly. A sweet sound fell upon my ears, drowning out the painful sound. The sweet sound of my mother's lullaby filled the air with peace. The bedtime lullaby she used to sing to me when I couldn't sleep at night, to keep the monsters at bay. Is this really my time to go? Well I guess so. Within moments the sweet song fell to deaf ears.
